LUBRICANT MEASUREMENT

We manufacture high temperature & low temperature viscometers and our models BS/C & BE/C are specified for viscosity measurement by ACEA and SAE J300. The designated methods for these instruments are ASTM D 4741, CEC L-36-A-90 and IP 370 . Many will be aware that our competitors claim to achieve nearly 10 million reciprocal seconds shear rate. We do not believe this for sound and cogent reasons which we are happy to discuss with you. Ravenfield guarantee that they can achieve shear rates in excess of 2.5 million reciprocal seconds and can prove from fundamental principles that those results are valid, which is why the Ravenfield HTHS has the highest repeatability and reproducibility of any available HTHS test method.

High Temperature High Shear Viscometers

Ravenfield HTHS viscometers are the favoured testing equipment of European lubricant manufacturers. Ravenfield instruments are specified in the ACEA test regime. Model BE/C is designed solely for testing at 150°C and 1 million reciprocal seconds while our models BS/C and BS/C+ are full research grade instruments

Low Temperature High Shear Viscometers

imag010The Ravenfield Coldshear viscometer was designed to simulate the standard low temperature test ASTM D 5293. Development of our compact, low energy consumption technology has led to the CS-2 . The CS-2 not only correlates with ASTM D 5293 but is also a full research grade rheometer.

Laboratory Automation

Too much work and not enough time? The Ravenfield Model DR AutoSampler interfaces to all Ravenfield viscometers (except Model BE/C) allowing automated testing of samples. Results are printed by the built-in printer and also saved to disk. LIMS interface available. The AutoSampler is integral to the Ravenfield Model CS-2 Low Temperature Rheometer .
